How to measure your kitchen
You do not need an architect's drawing. A simple sketch and a handful of measurements is usually all we need to get started.
- Sketch your kitchen A rough sketch is fine — it does not need to be to scale. Mark the general location of windows, doorways, your sink and appliances.
- Measure the walls Measure each wall where cabinets may go, corner to corner, and note the width of any doors, windows or obstacles.
- Measure the ceiling height Measure floor to ceiling. Older homes can be uneven, so take a reading at a few points around the room.
- Locate your utilities Note the position of plumbing services, waste, gas and electrical outlets on your sketch.
- Take photos Photograph the space, including a view of every wall. These help our consultants visualise your room.
